Narrative Technique Goals

I’ve just spend a couple of hours looking over my writing assignments from The Writer’s Studio, Tucson, AZ. (www.writerstudio.com.) I’ve been setting my goals for this summer. As always I can see that I’m creating more than might be possible but I feel like this will keep me honest. Already I can feel the part of me that doesn’t feel like a writer or today … even wants to be a writer. So creating a huge goal is like an anchor, keeping me from floating away on the sea of life with no writing destination. My lofty goal to write a collection of poems about my mum and her dying calls me to keep going, one word at a time.
